Malory - Not Here, Not Now

A friend of mine turned me on to this release. For fans of classic shoegaze, here's a band that seems to do Slowdive even better than Slowdive does. Eery textures, floaty guitar riffs over mellow drum-machine sequences, male and female vocals, lots of ethereals oooohs and aaaahs. The album flows really well as a continuous suite and builds up to an almost post-rock-esque climax.

William S Burroughs - Nothing Here Now But The Recordings

This is an extremely rare LP compiled by Genesis P-Orridge from a hoard of tapes friend and collaborator William S Burroughs gave him. It seems pretty obscure even among blogging spheres and I had to download a compilation of Burroughs spoken word pieces and extract individual tracks to finally hear this album. It's a really unpalatable listen, doesn't get many plays from me even though I worship the man's written output. Still there's some cool moments here and there and I thought I'd put this one up for any one who loves Burroughs or is an Industrial Records completionist.
